EVOLUTION OF SHOES

SHOES THROUGH HISTORY : Shoes are more than just a piece of clothing; they are a reflection of human history, culture, and technological advancement. From simple foot coverings to high-fashion sneakers, shoes have evolved dramatically over centuries. Understanding this evolution provides a fascinating insight into how human needs, style, and innovation have shaped what we wear on our feet today.

ANCIENT HISTORY: Ancient Footwear: Sandals, Moccasins, and Beyond
The earliest shoes were primarily functional, designed to protect the feet from rough terrain, hot sand, or cold weather. Ancient Egyptians, around 3500 BCE, used sandals made from papyrus and palm leaves. They were practical but also decorated to indicate social status. In other parts of the world, people wore moccasins made of soft leather, especially in North America, offering both comfort and flexibility. Ancient Roman soldiers wore durable leather sandals called “caligae,” which were designed for long marches and included thick soles iron hobnails for durability.
